Fitlet2 Under Load
This is a follow-up to Fitlet2 Impressions.
Annoyances
There are a few things that have not worked perfectly.
- The GPIO LEDs on the device can't easily be turned off by default, or set to off when the system comes out of standby or is turned on.
- The system is CPU-bound. This was obvious. But having added a second monitor, the lack of dedicated graphics acceleration in Linux is very noticeable. Running terminal, Slack, Firefox, and Thunderbird and playing a YouTube video, the video will stutter.
- The chassis gets very hot
It's tempting to move up to a more recent CPU from AMD. The Fitlet is quite old. I want to eventually retire my "server" in the house, so this is probably how I'll do that, when I do.
