@bayprogrammer 👍I’m the same in preferring the soft G even though the source word, regular, has a hard G.

I do the same with the hard G in Graphics (Interchange Format) to a soft G in GIF — as Steve Whilhite intended! ;)

If I’m feeling extra ornery, when people argue for a hard G in GIF I start talking about giraffes using a hard G. “We should go see the guh-raffes at the zoo.”

@bayprogrammer SQL is another one that can be fun.
@muncman @bayprogrammer huh, I've only heard the "register" G in "Regex".
@bayprogrammer @muncman yeah, SQL I spell out or say "sequel". Postgresql is harder... I don't really like "postgres" either. :-]
@bayprogrammer Dunno.. Majority of my experience is with open languages and tools.

@bayprogrammer @muncman Aw! Why you gotta be like that?? XD
@33MHz @bayprogrammer The distinction between acronyms and initialisms has been bit of a theme for me of late.
@muncman I like “squeal”. It goes well with all the dolphin logos floating around.
