@Leonidas I think it's somewhat semantic whether you say "baptism" is parents stating their intent at birth + a confirmation later vs a statement later. Ofc the sign of baptism--dying to one's self--is there regardless. IMO the imptnt is public profession.

@Leonidas I jive with the apparent family baptisms. And I jive with a public statement of faith, which a baby can't make. But I think baptism has multiple purposes, and infant baptism is unbundling those purposes.
@Leonidas my preference is not to do infant baptism, and call what we do something else. Reverse it. But that's a little screwball. I respect PCA's way and submit to the church.
@33MHz that’s good you respect and submit, because it’s more than likely that the hundred plus elders who wrote the Westminster Confession (together!) considered your thoughts and more.
