@MrFresh my take on fake news is that the natural social banter people used to have with acquaintances and friends at lunch where it stayed irrelevant and harmless is now online where masses are exposed to it. I try to leave it at the porch and the parlor.

@MrFresh simplistic but useful? I think using high-availability sources like social media for deep knowledge or news is tenuous. It chronically lacks relevance. But that can also make it the "bubble burster"; your approach changes what you get.
@MrFresh e.g. when Ferguson was going down, my views were pretty different from others' on App.net, which I appreciated.

@33MHz Well put. I certainly subscribe to that notion.
@MrFresh I'll entertain that it's enabled nation states and others to do funky things, but I de-escalate it all to plebeian hearsay.

But I'm naturally contrarian and disagreeable, so I don't suffer from the commons being polluted.
