Last night I was in the hotel elevator with a family who had a small boy, about 5 or 6. The boy had a cup of ice cream and didn't see me as he was waving it around. The parents stopped him from hitting me and apologized; they were worried I would be offended. I started a conversation with the child about his ice cream, and he told me about his "dulce de leche con brownie." I think each of us understood every word the other was saying. That was cool.

While the class was in practice time yesterday, I got to use the phrase, "No nos importa," which means "it's not important to us." One of the students remarked, "You said that just like a native Argentinian. "

I am getting better at listening and not trying to translate on the fly. It's like learning to type words instead of searching for letters one finger at a time. My speaking is still not natural enough, but it will be cool to see how much better I get.
