We had to say goodbye to one of our dogs today. She was a rescue from a kill shelter. We’ve had her over 9 years, and think she was 11yo or so.

She was a Shar Pei mix — looked, more or less, like a lab with a bunch of extra skin. :) Shar Pei Fever almost got her several times (she was in emergency care for an entire week once). Between that and the kill shelter, making it past 11 was a helluva feat. And while she started off pretty indifferent/cold toward people, she ended life as a happy, loving, playful family pet.
