I signed up our home and mobile numbers to a UK blocking scheme but it only works for ethical companies. I also bought a call blocking phone for home, it works really, really well (a caller not in the list of numbers must announce who they are, most give up.) Unfortunately the company I work for hasn't yet signed up our numbers to any service.

it's kind of forbidden in germany gladfully so there is no blocker needed mostly.

@blumenkraft That's lucky. I speak to lots of people here who simply cannot be bothered to sign up to that *free* service to stop the vast majority of calls.

The English would rather moan about things than act. ;)

@c @blumenkraft A shame. Luckily I tired of arguing with the callers that their offshore-ness didn't protect their UK bosses.

I was, of course, utterly wrong; the TPS and the information commissioner (if one actually exists) have no teeth.
