Income stream
I've survived for the past 12.5 years on a combination of redundancy payout, savings and superannuation. I have a number of congenital and degenerative conditions reducing quality of life and movement, so in June I applied for the disability pension. Since September I've been getting a Job Seeker allowance with medical exemption: I need not apply for work. I have not heard officially from Centrelink but their website shows I am to receive the first month's payment of the disability pension in my bank account today with further regular fortnightly payments.
This is a great mental and financial boost.
